Exclusive Interview: DJ Envy

You can tune in to him every morning on Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club”, DJ Envy is a one of a kind on-air personality, celebrity, DJ, recording artist and a business entrepreneur.

We’ve worked together with DJ Envy many times, he hosted Full Breach: Volume 5 for us back in 2015 and this time we are back again with this exclusive interview!

Dj Envy talks about RobLunaMusic.com:

DJ Envy…how’s the family life treating you?

“Rob Luna whats up!…man..the family life is good and I would not trade it for the world. I love my kids and I am always trying to be the best dad…I push my family to the forefront.”

How early do you usually get up in the morning?

“You know what it is, I’m up at 3:30am, been used to it for years now…I take care of things at home and then I’m off to the office.”

So do you face any challenges in being both a DJ and also an on-air personality?

“It can be stressful at times, some nights I only sleep 3-4 hours if that…but with exercise you can overcome anything. At the end of the day, I still make time for Gia and the kids.”

Which one of your Breakfast Club guests have you enjoyed talking to the most?

“Minister Louis Farrakhan! I hesitated at first.. but as it ends up, I enjoyed having him on the show and it turned out to be one of the best conversations I have ever had. He is a strong activist and a smart man.”

What’s the secret to surviving in the music industry for so many years?

“Just keep putting in work, don’t give up and always give it your best in what you do. Try your best to change the music industry but stay hot at the same time. Try to expand, a good example is 50…executive producer on Power..he’s got the partnership with Effen Vodka, he’s doing a lot.”

Who would you say had the hottest album of 2016?

“I gotta give that one to my nigga Chance The Rapper but definitely Beyonce too.”

How is your Juices For Life venture doing? Any plans on expanding locations?

“Have you had a gorilla smoothie yet? All 3 locations are doing well…getting people healthy out there and good reviews on Yelp. BK coming soon..very soon.”

And finally…when does your album “Just A Kid From Queens” drop?
“I’m really aiming for around the start of 2018. I need beats, Rob Luna when you gonna send me some?”
